Video Showcase

Potential clients always ask to see video performances of what I can offer to my David Mackin Music Show so here are a few examples. I recorded some videos over Lockdown and posted them on Facebook. Most got between 10,000 and 40,000 views which was fantastic. I am now able to take my studio on a little musical tour. I am enjoying the opportunity to be totally creative in a live setting.

If you would like to see a list of the huge range of diverse songs I perform in my sets please Click Here to download the list.

Downtown (T. Hatch)

I recorded this version of Downtown as a bit of light relief during the lockdown period. I tried to imagine how much we all needed to return to our favourite pubs and become social creatures again. The local pub is the most important place in our community. Use them or lose them.

              gig.

Here Come's The Sun (G. Harrison)

George has always been me favourite Beatle. This song has become the most streamed Beatles song of their whole catalogue. Good old George! I record all my own backing tracks in my studio try to find the exact sounds used in the oriiginal records. Here Comes The Sun was one of the first commercial uses of a Moog Synth. It is nice to use authentic instruments.

Weather With You (N. Finn)

My performance of a classic Crowded House song. This is the kind of video I project behind myself on my David Mackin Solo Show. I record my own backing tracks and use them on some of the songs on my performances.

Heartbeat City (Ocasek)

During Lockdown we lost the great Jackie Charlton. He was my favourite Middlesbrough Manager and what he went on to do for Ireland was staggering. This is my tribute to him and shows the more synth and electronic songs I am capable of performing. This song by The Cars could have been written about him.

C'Mon Everybody

This classic Eddie Cochran Track was recorded with the reverbs and compressions of the day; the ones used in Gold Star Studios Hollywood where Cochran recorded it. I try and replicate the classic sound of the eras in my backing tracks.

The Last Pint - Without You (Ham and Evans)

I mentioned earlier about pubs being so important. Use them or lose them. This is a tribute to the ones in my area that we have lost. I made the video to the classic Harry Nilsson song Without You. I have a similar vocal range to Nilsson and I like to show it off a bit

Turn Turn Turn (P. Seeger)

Another recording from my Lockdown Collection. I always loved this song and it was a good opporunity to perform all the instruments in the recording and show off a bit.

You've Got A Friend (Goffin And King)

Highlighting the more intimate piano performances that I do in my show. This classic Carole King song kicked off my Lockdown recordings and gave me the confidence to start doing this sort of thing. It is the best move I have made in a lot of years.
