The Albums Of David Mackin

The three original albums that I have released in my music career are finally becoming available. Through the amazing evolving of the internetI have finally been provided with a fantastic window to display my work and allow people to explore it. I will occasionally perform these songs in concerts of my original material and pp the occasional song into my David Mackin Music Show gigs. My albums explore the many genres that I have covered and, as I stress in my Music Manifesto, those boundries can be crossd regularly. I am not an artist to confine myself to a particular style

The Hermitage Suite

Originally released in 1997, this celtic album was a tribute to my late father Laurence Mackin who I lost in 1987 when I was only 18. The album aimed to capture the sentiments of this great man and dealt with the emotional trauma I faced in losing him. The album was re-released in 2023 with new embelishments and enhancements in sound quality. I am very proud of this release and I am currentky finallising stunning videos that I have created for each song.

The Poetry Pot

Released in 2006, this album is an eclectic blend of electro, jazz, indie rock/folk and a perfect showcase for my songwriting. I am currently thinking about how to repackage this album for release in the future.

Murder In The Rain

Released in 2018, this album revisits songs written when I was 18 and starting out in the musical world. It should have been my first album and the process of recording the songs as intended in 1988 was a real joy. The album has had 70,000 world wide streams to date and isis currently available on all digital stores and streaming sites

The Ring Of Gullion

I have almost completed the writing of my next album and hope to start recording it at this summer. This album will be epic. It journals my family's journey from Mullaghbawn in Northern Ireland to Witton Park in Durham and then onto South Bank in Middlesbrough. It is a story of steel and spirit peppered with good Irish and North East English humour. Each song is enriched in the style of music from the era in which each story is set. I have already performed some of these songs in solo shows but some of the titles include Roy Roger's Horse, Eleven Men Of Iron, Matty Innes Cuts, The Shadow Of St Peter and Paddy's Next Pint. I have scheduled the recording of them in the sumer of 2025. I am very excited about the video developments I have researched and hope to bring the towns of Mullabawn, Witton Park and South Bank back to times when they were in their prime. These technological developments will be discussed in my blog.
